A Groom’s Story: Finding a Venue

A Groom's Perspective copyWhen planning a wedding, finding that ideal venue is no easy task. My fiance and I have experienced this not once, but twice. We have been engaged since December 2014, and originally planned a destination wedding in Jamaica for early 2016. After we began having issues upon issues, we decided to postpone the wedding and reschedule it for somewhere within our local community. It was back to the drawing board, trying to find a venue all over again.

I was blessed with having a rather large family. Having to shift to a local wedding now meant a number of hoops to jump through. Not only did we have to find a venue that wasn’t booked for the next year but we also needed a venue large enough to accommodate the the significantly-sized family that would surely be attending now.

My fiance and I are also incredibly busy people, so finding a venue that would help us out with set up and tear down the day of the wedding was crucial. The day we met with Bridgewood, we had all of our questions answered and wishes granted, ultimately allowing us to make the easy decision of having our wedding at their beautiful venue. Here’s why Bridgewood was the one:

Working with a small budget
Since we had already planned this wedding once, we lost some of the money we put towards that plan, leaving us with a severely depleted budget to work with. Bridgewood offers excellent packages for Friday and Sunday weddings. Getting married on a Friday night did not scare us away for a second! In fact, Friday was perfect; saving us a great deal of money!

Wedding planner as part of the deal
When my fiance advised me that we needed a wedding planner, I laughed and checked our savings account. I told her there was absolutely no way we could afford to add a wedding planner to our bill, and I thought we would manage planning the event ourselves. In stepped Bridgewood to save the day yet again. Bridgewood placed us in a win-win situation because when booking your wedding at the premier resort, they provide you with a wedding planner. They provide assistance with organizing your food choices, your location at the resort, booking rooms for your party and guests and the setup and tear down of everything the day and night of the wedding. They even have table arrangements that you can use if you don’t want to have to worry about finding or making your own. We find the that the most helpful part of the package is having the wedding planner which comes at no extra cost. It only gets better from here!

The perks of weddings at Bridgewood
First, they gifted my fiance and I with a bottle of champagne along with a box of chocolates just for coming in and touring the resort. Although we are not married yet, the complementary wine certainly reinforces the age-old “happy wife, happy life,” saying. Once the tour had finished, they proceed to invite us back and stay a night for our first year anniversary. Bridgewood also offers you a golf cart for transportation around the grounds when you take pictures the day of the wedding. The resort itself has so much to offer including an award-winning restaurant and bar, golf, a pool park area, tennis and more. Bridgewood truly has something to offer for all of their guests. My fiance would admit that the best part (actually second to champagne and chocolate) was that there are options for outdoor ceremonies, and reserve options if weather were to force us indoors.

Ultimately, the decision to book our wedding at Bridgewood was a hands-down, the best decision we could have made. They offer a complete package that made us feel like nothing less than royalty. We are beyond excited for our big day – and fortunately for us, we’re not breaking the bank. We can’t thank Bridgewood enough for creating the setting for what will surely be the greatest day of the rest of our lives.
